In the coming days (August 24 and 26, 2024), citizens of Bosnia will notice an increased presence of EUFOR vehicles on roads from the border crossings of Klobuk, Metaljka, and Svilaj to Capljina and the Butmir base in Sarajevo.
According to a statement, these activities are related to the arrival of EUFOR's reserve forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The EUFOR troops already stationed in the country will be temporarily reinforced by reserve forces from Austria, Hungary, and Romania, as well as peacekeeping troops deployed in Kosovo (KFOR – Kosovo Forces) for the “Quick Response” exercise, EUFOR's large annual training event that will take place from August 24 to September 16, 2024.
The convoys will include both light and heavy armored vehicles, with support from local police and escort by international military police.
“EUFOR is a strong, capable, and reliable partner and remains committed to supporting the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in maintaining a safe and stable environment,” the statement from EUFOR reads.
