An emergency session of the House of Representatives (HoR) of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will discuss two key European laws—the Bill on Border Control and the Bill on the Protection of Personal Data—has been scheduled for January 16, it was agreed by the HoR Collegium.

“We agreed that we would hold two sessions this month – an emergency session will be held on January 16, which will have two European laws on the agenda. It is the Law on Border Control and the Law on the Protection of Personal Data,” said Denis Zvizdic, BiH HoR Speaker.

In December 2024, the Bosnian Government, formally called the Council of Ministers, unanimously approved the Draft Law on Border Control and sent it to the Parliament under urgent procedure. Similarly, the Proposal for the Law on the Protection of Personal Data, sent for consideration under an abbreviated procedure, was also unanimously approved.

Zvizdic also announced that a regular session of the House of Representatives is scheduled for January 23, during which audit reports and around 23 other items will be addressed.

“We are striving to maintain a high level of efficiency and dynamics in the work of the BiH Parliament, particularly in the House of Representatives,” Zvizdic concluded.
