The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina late last night. She was welcomed at Sarajevo International Airport by Bosnia’s Foreign Minister, Elmedin Konakovic, and the head of the EU Delegation to BiH, Johann Sattler, with whom she also held a short meeting.

Prime Ministers of Croatia and the Netherlands Andrej Plenkovic and Mark Rutte arrived in Sarajevo earlier on Monday, and last night they met with political officials from the state and the FBiH level at a working dinner.

Meetings are planned for Tuesday with members of the BiH Presidency, the chair and deputy chair of the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Joint Board of the BiH Parliament, as well as of civil society representatives.

The aim of this visit is to encourage the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to take advantage of the opportunity and intensify their efforts in order to achieve the necessary progress on 14 key priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission by March of this year.
