There is no reason for fear and panic, prime minister of Bosnia's Federation entity Nermin Niksic told a press conference after the government's urgent session that discussed the security situation in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as the whole country.
Niksic expressed discontent over the increasing rate of murders and crime that has murders as a consequence.
“We would like to point that out and we demand intensifying of the activities of everyone in the police in the upcoming period. We reviewed the situation and passed a few conclusions,” he said.
According to Niksic, the Federation's Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federation's Police Administration and police units at lower level of authority are putting efforts to raise the security situation to a higher level, and will demand that these efforts continue in future as well.
“We cannot say that the security situation is bad, but we must raise it to a higher level,” said Niksic, noting that Bosnia and Herzegovina is among the low-risk countries when it comes to terrorism threats.
In a message to citizen, the PM stressed: “The government and competent bodies are doing everything in their power to make the security situation stable and good. There is no reason for fear and panic.”
