The meeting of the leaders of the opposition parties in Bosnia's Federation (FBiH) entity, where the implementation of the election results after the General Elections in BiH was discussed, was held today in Sarajevo. Cooperation on programmatic principles was established and the earlier BiH Presidency member Zeljko Komsic’s request that the election watchdog not distribute mandates until High Representative Christian Schmidt receives a clear explanation of the amendments to the Election Law was supported.
“We want to stress that we insist on asking the Office of the High Representative (OHR) for urgent and precise clarification of [Christian] Schmidt's decision regarding the House of Peoples of FBiH. We agree that the Central Election Commission (CEC) should not issue mandates until the decision mentioned above is clarified. We insist that the CEC publishes the preliminary results as soon as possible. After that, we'll go into the process of re-counting the ballots for all levels of government in BiH,” Social Democratic Party (SDP) leader Nermin Niksic.
He added that the number of invalid ballots – almost half a million – is completely unnatural.
When asked by journalists about other parties, Niksic added that the Democratic Action Party (SDA) is not an inevitable coalition partner and that they are unacceptable to the majority of those gathered.
He added that the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ BiH), unlike SDA, is inevitable at higher levels of government.
