As part of Wednesday’s operation "Ata," conducted by the Federation (FBiH) entity’s Police Administration (FUP) under the orders of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office and the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, searches at 13 locations in the Sarajevo Canton led to the discovery of one kilogram of cocaine, weapons, and a large sum of money, N1 has learned.

In addition to the drugs and weapons, authorities also found vehicles purchased with illegally obtained money, and efforts are underway to seize them.

This operation targets unauthorized drug production and trafficking, incitement to prostitution, and illegal possession of firearms.

The prime suspect in this case is Fedja Avdic, who is already known to the judicial authorities. He has been in police custody since this morning. Avdic is accused of organizing criminal groups involved in various offences, including drug trafficking, prostitution, and illegal possession of firearms.

Avdis was previously arrested in 2011 during Operation “Pik,” when police found approximately one kilogram of heroin in searched apartments. Four years later, he was again detained after a shooting incident in Alipasino Polje neighbourhood, during which Mirza Alic was wounded.

Besides Avdic, dozens of other individuals have been implicated in this operation, including a driver employed by the Government of Sarajevo Canton. His official vehicle was searched this morning due to suspected involvement in criminal activities. The driver is an employee in the office of the chairman and deputy chairman of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly.
