
The Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PUFBiH) reported a record public revenue collection of 7.95 billion Bosnian marks (€4.06 billion) for the January-December 2024 period, marking an 8.22% increase compared to the previous year.
In 2024, the structure of public revenue was as follows:
- Income tax and arrears from personal income tax: 769.72 million marks (€393.42 million).
- Corporate profit tax and arrears: 668.26 million marks (€341.65 million).
- Real estate transfer tax and rights: 97.99 million marks (€50.06 million).
- Property, inheritance, and gift tax: 48.27 million marks (€24.67 million).
- Other tax arrears: 430,197 marks (€219,86).
- Fees and charges: 759.87 million marks (€388.59 million).
- Monetary fines: 75.17 million marks (€38.42 million).
- Membership fees: 17.21 million marks (€8.80 million).
- Other public revenues: 4.23 million marks (€2.16 million).
Contributions surge
Social insurance contributions, including pensions, health, and unemployment insurance, amounted to 5.51 billion marks (€2.81 billion) in total. This includes:
- Pension and disability insurance contributions: 3.07 billion marks (€1.57 billion).
- Health insurance contributions: 2.19 billion marks (€1.12 billion).
- Unemployment insurance contributions: 252.52 million marks (€129.12 million).
Employment growth
As of December 31, 2024, the total number of employees in the Federation of BiH reached 551,452, an increase of 7,107 compared to December 31, 2023. Of these, 306,389 (55.56%) were men, and 245,063 (44.44%) were women.
Growth in fiscal device usage and revenue monitoring
By the end of 2024, there were 105,663 fiscal devices installed across the Federation of BiH, representing an increase of 5,198 devices compared to the previous year. Transactions recorded through these devices totalled 68.01 billion marks (€34.73 billion), a rise of 3.39 billion marks (€1.73 billion) or 5.24% from 2023.
The municipality of Centar Sarajevo recorded the highest number of fiscal devices, with 6,977 units
