Filipovic and Thuillier call for faster implementation of key European reforms

They discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and France, the current political situation in BiH, and the country’s EU and NATO integration processes. They particularly stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina enjoys strong French support on this path. Special attention was also given to political stability and the smooth functioning of institutions at all levels, the HDZ BiH said in a statement.

They also exchanged views on the results of the recent general elections in BiH and the forthcoming process of forming governments, as well as the need to establish stable institutions with the capacity to implement the necessary reforms, fulfil commitments on the European path and promote the overall development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The interlocutors also discussed current developments within the European Union, its enlargement policy and the geopolitical importance of bringing Southeast European countries closer to the European institutional and political space.

Filipovic stressed the importance of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s partnership with France and continued cooperation between the two countries in many areas. She emphasised that respect for BiH’s constitutional order, the principle of constituent peoples and the full political equality of the three constituent peoples were essential for the country’s long-term stability.

She also noted that functional institutions with legitimately elected representatives were the foundation of political stability, domestic trust and the implementation of reform processes.
