Film 'Tabija' is Bosnia's candidate for the Academy Awards

Bosnia’s Association of Filmmakers organized the selection and the commission, which included producers, directors, screenwriters and editors, voted on Bosnia’s entry in the competition.

‘Tabija’ had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival, and was co-produced by SCCA / pro.ba in Sarajevo and Time Lapse Picture in Toronto, Canada. The film was financially supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, the Sarajevo Cinema Fund, and the Telefilm, Ontario Creates and Eurimages funds.

The film tells the story of Sarajevan Faruk, a teenager who is trying to prove himself to a local mobster and is looking for a teenage girl who will work for him. Everything changes when he meets Mona and falls in love with her.
