Fire on Mount Cvrsnica still active, spreading through underground roots

At the fire site, remaining tree stumps are burning and spreading to unburned areas as they roll downhill, while the fire is also spreading through underground roots.

Firefighters remain on the ground and are taking measures to prevent the fire from spreading further.

Several grass, low vegetation, forest and waste fires were reported across the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton over the past 24 hours.

In the Mostar area, grass and low vegetation caught fire in Bacevici and Rodoc, while waste was burning in Opine. In the Capljina area, grass and low vegetation were burning in Gabela, Dracevo and Struge (Gorica), while waste also caught fire at the Ada municipal landfill. Grass and low vegetation fires were also reported in Citluk Polje, near the village of Hutovo in Neum, and at Poplat and the Gornja Duboka location in Stolac.

In Konjic, forest, grass and low vegetation burned in the BjelimiCi area. Elektro-Konjic and the Konjic police were notified because wooden utility poles had been scorched.
