Montenegrin Electric Transmission System (CGES) crews spotted a large fire on a 400-kilowatt transmission line in inaccessible terrain on the Montenegrin border towards Gacko, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, "Vijesti" learned.

The CGES teams will try to get to the place where the fire was detected as soon as possible in order to repair a major fault in the electrical transmission network, which is why they will also need to hire a helicopter unit.

A source from CGES confirmed that the fire was the result of a regional fault.

“Vijesti” was told unofficially by the Interior Ministry and the Army of Montenegro that until 2:30 pm. the CGES did not ask for their helicopters to be engaged.

The power supply was cut off today in the afternoon, and power outages were also reported in the region, including Bosnia and Herzegovina.

For now, all that is officially known is that it was an overload on the network.
