The Fiscal Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina has cleared a major hurdle in the nation's financial planning by adopting the Global Framework of Fiscal Balance and Policies for the 2026–2028 period. This pivotal move effectively paves the way for the formal adoption of the 2026 state budget.

Under the newly approved framework, the budget for the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been set at 1,580,500,000 Bosnian marks (approximately €808.10 million). This allocation is designed to ensure the continuous operation of state-level bodies and the fulfillment of their legal mandates throughout the coming year.

The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers confirmed that this decision allows competent authorities to finalise the preparation of the 2026 budget. Crucially, the move ensures that the country remains on track to meet its international financial obligations. By securing this fiscal foundation, the Council aims to maintain administrative stability and ensure that all state-prescribed responsibilities are executed without disruption.
