Five members of controversial vigilante group “Panthers” arrested in Sarajevo

Five members of the “Panter” Association - a controversial vigilante group that claims to track pedophiles but is widely accused of violent behavior and intimidation - have been arrested as part of a police operation codenamed Cage, the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office announced.

During the raids, investigators seized drugs and weapons from one of the suspects.
Law enforcement agencies are working to secure material and digital evidence of alleged video recordings involving child abuse, according to the prosecutor’s office.
The founder of the “Panters” Association is currently serving a prison sentence in Bihac for a separate criminal offense, prosecutors added.

The operation was launched early this morning under the order and supervision of Sarajevo Canton prosecutors, involving investigators and the Special Police Unit of the Sarajevo Canton Interior Ministry in cooperation with the Federal Police Administration (FUP), the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), and police from the Una-Sana and Herzegovina-Neretva cantons.
The suspects are accused of jointly committing multiple crimes, including violent behavior, unlawful recording, extortion, threats to security, and violation of the sanctity of the home.
The operation was conducted with the assistance of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Intelligence and Security Agency.
