The Municipal Election Commission /MEC/ Novi Grad in Republika Srpska (RS) entity replaced the polling committee at the Hozici polling station on Sunday, where irregularities were found and voting has not started. Also, five persons from this polling committee were apprehended due on suspicion of election fraud, said the Chief Prosecutor of the Prijedor District Public Prosecutor's Office, Mladen Mitrovic.
“Members of the MEC visited the polling station in Hozici and found irregularities, marked ballots for all levels of government. The Central Election Commission, the police and the Prosecutor's Office have been informed about everything,” said the President of the MEC, Ljuban Knezevic.
Knezevic clarified that the new polling committee will determine the situation at the polling station, based on which a decision will be made whether the election process will begin in Hozici.
General Elections have kicked off in Bosnia and Herzegovina where the names of 7,258 candidates are on the ballots. A total of 3,368,666 BiH citizens have the right to vote and elect members of the BiH Presidency, representatives in the BiH Parliament, as well as representatives in the Federation (FBiH) entity Parliament, the Republika Srpska (RS) National Assembly, and representatives in ten FBiH cantonal assemblies.
