In recent days, five more victims of the Srebrenica genocide, committed in the summer of 1995, have been identified at the Commemorative Center in Tuzla. All five families who identified the victims have also given consent for their burial. According to the consents received so far, the remains of 11 victims will be buried at this year's collective funeral in the Srebrenica-Potocari Memorial Center.

This is not the final number, as families wishing to bury their loved ones can give their final identification and consent for burial until the beginning of July, when the final preparations for the collective funeral commence.

The recently identified victims were confirmed through DNA methods, with family members subsequently providing final identification and consent for burial.

One of the recently identified victims is 17-year-old Beriz Mujic (son of Omer), born in 1978 in Zvornik. He was killed in July 1995 in Suceska near Bratunac, and his remains were exhumed in May 2023 in the Srebrenica municipality.

The family also identified Midhat Basic (son of Adem), born in 1973 in Pobudje, Bratunac. He was killed in the summer of 1995 in Zvornik, and his remains were exhumed in August 2000 from the primary mass grave Grbavci-Lazete, Zvornik. Additional remains were found in a secondary mass grave in Snagovo, Zvornik, in October 2004.

The family confirmed the identity of Nevres Salihovic (son of Mehemed), born in 1970 in Biljaca, Bratunac. He was 25 years old when killed, and his remains were exhumed in October 2004 from the secondary mass grave Bljeceva, Bratunac.

Ahmet Jasarevic (son of Ismet), born in 1971 in Bljeceva, was also identified. He disappeared at the age of 24 in July 1995 in Zeleni Jadar. His remains were discovered years later in June 2007 in the Zeleni Jadar mass grave, Srebrenica.

The family identified Ibrahim Salkic (son of Muharem), born in 1935 in Kamenica near Zvornik. He disappeared in Potocari in 1995, and his remains were exhumed in 2002 from the Kamenica mass grave. Although his remains were identified in 2007, the family only now found the strength to consent to his burial for final rest on July 11 at the Srebrenica-Potocari Memorial Center.
