Former chief state prosecutor Goran Salihović died last night in Tuzla.
Salihovic died last night at UKC Tuzla after a short illness, it was confirmed for N1.
Salihovic was born in Tuzla in 1959. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Sarajevo in 1986 and then he was employed as an operational analyst at the Internal Affairs Service in Lukavac.
At the end of September 2016, after the end of the first half of the mandate of the chief prosecutor, Salihovic faced a disciplinary complaint from the Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH.
He was temporarily suspended from that position and later dismissed and transferred to the position of prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from which he was also suspended. The Disciplinary Commission ruled that his behavior called into question the public's trust in the impartiality and credibility of the Prosecutor's Office and that he intentionally provided false, misleading, or insufficient information in connection with job applications, disciplinary matters and matters of promotion and advancement in the service or any other questions.
