Speaking to N1, former NATO Deputy Secretary-General Rose Gottemoeller touched upon the situation in Ukraine, Russian threats to the Western Balkans and NATO’s commitment to BiH. She also talked about Finnish and Swedish NATO membership bids, the Croatian President, and the Turkish President’s threats to the two nordic countries.
Speaking about the war in Ukraine, she said that NATO countries definitely were late in sending some of the equipment and in her opinion, the urgency of the situation had streamlined those procedures within the alliance.
Because of the war in Ukraine, NATO took steps to strengthen the EUFOR Althea peace-keeping mission in BiH by providing additional military support and continuing their cooperation with the EU.
She also spoke about Serbian President Vucic and BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik in the context of “sitting on two chairs,” more on which you can hear in the video above.
