Kakanj police station received a report stating that four bodies were found in a vehicle on Lipnicko brdo, Zenica Doboj Canton’s Interior Ministry told N1 on Monday.
“The Kakanj police station received a report at 11:45 am that an all-terrain motor vehicle was spotted on Lipnicko brdo between Kakanj and Vares with four lifeless bodies in it,” Samir Valentic, spokesperson for the Interior Ministry told N1.
The mayor of Kakanj, Mirnes Bajtarevic told N1 that a successful businessman, the owner of Delta Petrol company Bakir Spahic and his brother were among the victims and that the remaining two men who were with them were their friends.
He also said that they perished on one of the highest peaks in Kakanj – Lipnicko brdo, which is located at about 1,400 meters above sea level.
“Unfortunately, something probably happened during the evening in the forest area. That is considered the highest peak in the Kakanj municipality area. It happened under the Lipnicko brdo, at some 1,300 – 1,350 meters above sea level. They were probably driving on an inaccessible road. We don't know what happened, but we expect it to be investigated by investigators who have already cordoned off the area and are not allowing others to come. I believe that it is not the first time that our Bakir has passed through those roads, but it is really unacceptable and incomprehensible what happened to them during the day or in the evening”, the Mayor said.
