Frontman of Yugoslav band EKV posthumously declared Honorary Citizen of Sarajevo

By a unanimous decision of the City Council, Milan Mladenovic, the frontman of the Yugoslav art rock band Ekatarina Velika, was posthumously declared an honorary citizen of Sarajevo.

This City Council said the decision is based on the courage and daring of a man who, when everyone was silent, raised his voice and offered sincere support to the city during one of the most difficult periods in its history.

Co-founder of the Ars Aevi project, Anur Hadziomerspahic, was awarded the City Plaque posthumously.

The winners of this award are academician Borislav Petrovic and Vincent Tan for their contribution to education and sports.

The “Graham Bamford” award went to Pasaga Hrba – Pasa, a mountaineer and rescuer from Sarajevo, for his demonstrated civil courage, solidarity, humanity and altruism.

The council awarded the “Sarajevo snowflake” karatekas Emina and Nejra Sipovic, tennis player Amajla Kadric, and students of the Second Gymnasium who won gold medals at the STEM Olympiad in Frankfurt, Sarajevo Mayor Benjamina Karic announced on Facebook.
