Fuel prices climb across Federation of BiH as diesel hits record highs

Average retail prices for fuel in the Federation of BiH entity have continued their upward trajectory, with diesel reaching 3.38 Bosnian marks (approx. €1.73) per litre and premium 95-octane unleaded petrol hitting 2.67 marks (approx. €1.37) per litre on March 26, according to the FBiH Trade Ministry.

When compared to the previous day’s figures, petrol prices rose by 0.04 marks (approx. €0.02) per litre, while diesel increased by 0.03 marks (approx. €0.02) per litre. Ministry data highlights a significant surge since the start of the year; in January, the average price for diesel stood at 2.29 marks (approx. €1.17) per litre, with petrol at 2.32 marks (approx. €1.19) per litre.

The month of March has seen a sustained spike in costs. Diesel has climbed from 2.35 KM (approx. €1.20) per litre at the end of February to its current 3.38 marks (approx. €1.73) peak. During the same period, petrol prices shifted from 2.32 marks (approx. €1.19) to 2.67 marks (approx. €1.37) per litre.

Between February 28 and March 25, filling stations submitted 9,753 notifications regarding price and margin adjustments. Of these, 6,687 related to diesel and 3,066 to petrol.

The Ministry noted that margin limit regulations remain in effect across the Federation of BiH. These rules cap the maximum wholesale margin at 0.06 marks (approx. €0.03) per litre and the retail margin at 0.25 marks (approx. €0.13) per litre for all petroleum products.
