Gazprom raises gas price for Bosnia, Energoinvest stresses urgency of supply diversification

Russian supplier Gazprom Export has increased the purchase price of natural gas for Energoinvest for the third quarter of 2026 by 14.42 percent compared to the previous quarter, Energoinvest announced, adding that such circumstances further confirm the need to develop alternative supply routes.

The adjustment represents a pricing structure determined exclusively by the supplier, with no possibility for the buyer to influence its formation. Energoinvest pointed out that natural gas prices on European exchanges have surged by nearly 50 percent compared to the previous quarter, which demonstrates that the European market remains exposed to significant price fluctuations and geopolitical influences.
Under such circumstances, ensuring a stable and secure natural gas supply requires long-term strategic solutions. Energoinvest continuously advocates for the development of alternative supply routes and new gas interconnections, which can provide greater energy security, more competitive procurement conditions, and reduced dependence on a single source and transport route. Diversification of supply sources and transport routes is no longer just a development goal, but a vital strategic interest.
The development of the Southern Interconnection, alongside other projects enabling access to diverse suppliers and natural gas markets, represents a key prerequisite for the long-term stability and resilience of the energy system. The company will continue to actively advocate for and participate in the realization of projects contributing to a safer, more competitive, and sustainable natural gas supply.
