The Commander of the NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, Brigadier General Pamela L. McGaha, held a briefing in Brussels, on Wednesday, before the highest military leaders of NATO and EU member states within the long-term and mutually beneficial partnership between NATO and Bosnia and He9rzegovina, including the cooperation of NATO and the European Union in BiH.
At a briefing with SHAPE Deputy Chief of Staff (VCOS) Lt. Gen. Hubert Cotterreau and Maj. Gen. Dacian Tiberiu-Șerban, Director of NATO's International Military Staff Cooperative Security Division, McGaha thanked NATO and EU countries for their support and contribution to the defence capability building project as the best way “to build capabilities and resilience in the defence and security sector.”
“The best examples of success were achieved through a united effort – bringing together our institutions, states and activities to use all our expertise and resources to help BiH in the best way,” said McGaha.
During the meeting, General McGaha praised the ongoing partnership activities with the BiH Ministry of Defense and the BiH Armed Forces, including the successful organization of the NATO Strategic Military Partners Conference in April 2024, which brought together representatives of NATO and partner countries to discuss strategic military cooperation.
Since Bosnia and Herzegovina has been a member of NATO's Partnership for Peace program since 2006, such events represent a significant opportunity for engagement and dialogue, announced NATO Headquarters Sarajevo.
