As Bosnia and Herzegovina marks its Statehood Day on November 25, numerous international dignitaries extended their congratulations to the nation and its citizens.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken issued a heartfelt message, emphasizing the United States’ strong partnership with Bosnia and Herzegovina. On behalf of the U.S., Blinken expressed his warmest congratulations on the Statehood Day anniversary, reaffirming unwavering support for the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and multicultural identity. He also highlighted the US commitment to Bosnia’s stability, prosperity, and Euro-Atlantic integration.
Blinken encouraged Bosnian leaders to prioritize unity and a brighter future for all citizens. He underscored the United States’ dedication to working alongside the people of BiH in their shared pursuit of peace, security, and prosperity.
In his message, Blinken added that Statehood Day serves as a testament to the resilience and determination of the Bosnian people, urging the occasion to inspire progress and optimism.
King Charles III of the United Kingdom also extended his congratulations on this significant day. In a message addressed to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s leadership and citizens, King Charles conveyed heartfelt wishes on behalf of himself and Queen Camilla.
“Dear Excellencies, as you and the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrate the special occasion of your Statehood Day, my wife and I have great pleasure in conveying our heartfelt congratulations to Your Excellencies and the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the King wrote.
He emphasized the value of the bond between the two nations and expressed hope for continued collaboration on global issues such as peace, prosperity, and climate change, for the benefit of future generations. The King extended his warmest wishes to the citizens of BiH for the year ahead.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina shared a congratulatory message via social media, reaffirming steadfast support for the country.
The US commitment to Bosnia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and multicultural character remains unshaken, they said, adding that their partnership has never been stronger and that they will stand by Bosnia’s citizens as they push their political leaders to do what is necessary to secure their rightful place within the Euro-Atlantic family of nations,” the Embassy’s message stated.
Bosnia celebrates November 25 as Statehood Day, commemorating the restoration of its statehood 81 years ago. This milestone remains a significant symbol of the country’s resilience and aspirations for a unified and prosperous future.
In honour of Statehood Day, the Bosnian flag was raised on the buildings of the city councils in Hamilton, Calgary, and Toronto, Canada.
