Commemorative events are planned in front of cultural centres, public squares, and iconic landmarks, including Vjecna vatra (Eternal Flame) in Sarajevo, Trg slobode (Freedom Square) in Tuzla, Spanjolski trg (Spanish Square) in Mostar, as well as Bellevueplatz in Zurich, Rathausplatz in Vienna, and Phoenix Park in Dublin. All gatherings are scheduled to begin at 5:00 pm local time, with adjustments for different time zones such as St. Louis and Ottawa.
Organisers across the diaspora have invited people to come together, light candles, play Halid’s timeless songs, and symbolically pay tribute to a man whose voice and lyrics became part of a shared cultural identity.

More than 60 cities have officially registered memorial events, including Banja Luka, Zenica, Bihac, Gradacac, Ljubljana, Graz, Dortmund, Hamburg, Stockholm, Sydney, Toronto, Doha, and Podgorica.

In some locations, large video projection walls have been set up, while others are preparing for collective sing-alongs of Halid’s greatest hits — such as Miljacka, Romanija, U meni jesen je, Ja bez tebe ne mogu da zivim, and many more songs that continue to unite listeners around the world.
Halid Beslic, whose music became a symbol of love, nostalgia, and resilience, will be honoured on Sunday from every corner of the globe, with song, tears, and pride.
