GSS Zenica vehicles and equipment returned to BiH from Russia

The activities were organized following the tragic deaths of Bosnian citizens, members of the Zenica Mountain Rescue Service (GSS Zenica), on Mount Elbrus.

Based on a decision and conclusions of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, FUCZ took over the organization, retrieval and ground transportation of the vehicles and accompanying equipment belonging to the deceased GSS Zenica members from the Russian Federation to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The FUCZ operational team departed for Russia on July 30, 2026, with two specialized vehicles and trailers. During their stay in the Russian Federation, the vehicles and accompanying equipment were retrieved, after which their ground transportation to Bosnia and Herzegovina was successfully completed, FUCZ said.

All activities were carried out in full coordination with the Government of the Federation of BiH and the relevant institutions and authorities, with significant support from Bosnia and Herzegovina's diplomatic and consular missions abroad.

Thanks to the good coordination and engagement of all institutions involved, the necessary conditions were secured for the safe retrieval and transportation of the vehicles and equipment from the Russian Federation to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

With this, all activities related to the retrieval and transportation of the vehicles and accompanying equipment belonging to the deceased GSS Zenica members have been successfully completed, fulfilling the task assigned to FUCZ by the decision and conclusions of the Government of the Federation of BiH.

FUCZ thanked Bosnia and Herzegovina's diplomatic and consular missions abroad for their exceptional professionalism, support and responsible approach throughout the implementation of this demanding task, as well as all relevant institutions and individuals whose engagement contributed to its successful completion.
