“OHR supports the BiH Central Election Commission in professionally and objectively continuing its work on finalizing and certifying the election results. Independent investigation of reports of electoral fraud is essential for ensuring the integrity of the electoral process,” the OHR said.

The High Representative is the international official overseeing the civilian implementation of the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement in the country.

According to the current election results, the leader of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), Milorad Dodik, won the election for RS President. However, opposition parties in the entity are demanding a recount, arguing that their candidate, Jelena Trivic, from the Party of Democratic Process, is the winner.

The election fraud allegations prompted thousands of citizens to protest in Banjaluka, the administrative centre of the RS, last week.
