A total of 458 flu-like cases were registered since December 30, 2024, in Bosnia's Republika Srpska entity, with 83 patients being treated for severe acute respiratory infections, the Institute for Public Health told Srna news agency
Due to severe acute respiratory infections, 61 patients are being treated at the University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska, 10 each in hospitals in the nearby towns of Prijedor and Gradiska, and two patients in Trebinje, in the south.
The majority of patients are between the ages of 30 and 64 and older than 65.
In the same period, health centers reported 3,363 acute respiratory infections.
When it comes to these and flu-like cases, the largest number of patients are between the ages of five and 14 and between 30 and 64.
The highest incidence of accidental flu is in the regions of Foca and East Sarajevo.
Republika Srpska entity makes nearly half of the Bosnia and Herzegovina's territory, with Banja Luka – the second-largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina as the entity's administrative centre.
