Hundreds of people gathered in Tuzla for a peaceful protest walk over the murdered Amra Kahrimanovic.

After a 15-minute walk, those gathered arrived in front of the Tuzla Canton Interior Ministry. In their statements to N1, the citizens said they were very shaken and no longer felt safe even in their own homes.

“I no longer feel safe even in my apartment,” said one of the residents in a statement for N1.

The family of Amra Kahrimanovic was also supported by Muriz Memic, the father of the victim Dzenan who was killed in Sarajevo under undisclosed circumstances in 2016, as well as BiH Human Rights Minister Sevlid Hurtic.

“Every ordinary citizen has the same pain. Commissioners, prime ministers, ministers, today they are indignant, tomorrow they are already discussing what they will have for lunch. No one thinks of resigning. These are all political functions. I have been fighting for eight years. We succeeded in replacing two commissioners, and that's quite a success,” said Muriz Memic for N1.

“I think it's about time we all wake up because we've all been ‘hit’ in the head,” he added.

“We are here six months after Nizama [Hecimovic, killed in August 2023]. This woman was supposed to celebrate her birthday, today. Sadness and grief. That's what I keep saying: Who's next? I think this is a message for the whole of BiH, security services, get involved a little. Start doing your job. That's what I told the minister and the commissioner,” Hurtic told N1.

He added that the Gradacac he chief of police, where Nizama Hurtic was savagely killed by her partner, was transferred to Srebrenik.
“No policeman who had coffee with the killer was sanctioned. Now this happened. People wonder what the difference is between an official and a private gun,” he said, referring to the fact that Nizama Hecimovic was killed from a private pistol and that an off-duty police officer killed Amra Kahrimanovic.

“We, the taxpayers, paid for the official gun, and he [the officer] killed Amra with that gun. I think that the state must stand before every citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, Hurtic concluded.
