Hungarian Counter-Terrorism Ofice opens in Republika Srpska

The facility was inaugurated by the Minister of Interior of Republika Srpska, Zeljko Budimir, alongside the Director of the Hungarian Counter-Terrorism Center, Janos Hajdu.

The opening follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed a year ago in Banja Luka, which aimed to strengthen police cooperation between the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska and the Hungarian Counter-Terrorism Center. The primary objective of this partnership is the prevention and detection of terrorist criminal activities.

This strategic cooperation encompasses several key security pillars, including:

• The global fight against terrorism.
• The exchange of intelligence and best operational practices.
• Technical and scientific collaboration.
• Joint training programs for personnel tasked with the most complex security operations.

The presence of this office is expected to facilitate real-time information sharing and enhance the tactical capabilities of specialized units in their efforts to maintain regional security.
