Import of water and beverages from Bosnia threefold higher than export

Export of water and beverages from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first nine months of 2020 dropped by 8.7 percent compared to the same period of 2019, according to the Foreign Trade Chamber's data, while import of the same items to the country decreased by 15.8 percent. Despite the significant drop in both, the import of these items to Bosnia is threefold higher than their export.

Bosnia exported the total of 37.3 billion marks (approx 19 billion euros) worth of water and other beverages, while the value of imported quantities amounted to some 121 billion marks (approx 61 billion euros).

During this period of time, Bosnia and Herzegovina mostly imported and exported water, including flavoured mineral water.

The import and export of other beverages in the first nine months of 2020 dropped by 17.9 percent i.e. 17.4 percent, compared to the same period of 2019.

As for beer, its export dropped by 1.3 percent and import by 5%.

According to the Foreign Trade Chamber, the main markets Bosnia has been exporting to in this period were Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia.
