Industrial production in Federation of BiH entity sees significant decline in January 2026

Total industrial production in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) entity experienced a notable downturn at the start of the year. According to data from the Federal Institute for Statistics, production in January 2026 fell by 5.5% compared to December 2025, while the year-on-year figures show a sharper decline of 10.1% compared to January 2025.

On a monthly basis, the capital goods sector saw the most significant drop, decreasing by 18.6%. Durable consumer goods followed with a decline of 6.2%, while intermediate products fell by 2.9%. The energy sector recorded a 2.7% decrease, and non-durable consumer goods saw a slight reduction of 1.6% compared to the previous month.
The annual indicators highlight even more substantial shifts in specific sectors. Compared to January 2025, the production of durable consumer goods plummeted by 25.1%, and non-durable consumer goods decreased by 14.7%. Energy production fell by 8.6%, followed by a 6.9% drop in intermediate products. Capital goods showed the smallest annual decline, decreasing by 2.4% over the twelve-month period.
