As they stated, the Transatlantic Summit on Gas Supply Security was held in Washington, organized by the Chairman of the National Energy Dominance Council and Secretary of the Interior, Doug Burgum, and the Vice Chairman of the Council and Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright.
At the summit, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Chairman of the Israeli M.T. Abraham Group, Amir Gross Kabiri, and the Chairman of Atlantic-See LNG Trade, Alexandros Exarchou, establishing the framework for a long-term Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) supply contract.
In the press release, they emphasize that this agreement ensures a stable delivery of American liquefied natural gas for Aluminij Industries, a subsidiary of Tel Aviv-based M.T. Abraham Group and one of the largest aluminum producers in Southeast Europe.
The signed MOU lays a foundation for a 20-year LNG supply Agreement between M.T. Abraham Group and Atlantic-See LNG Trade, which will be finalized and be signed by the end of 2026.
The LNG will be supplied by Venture Global Commodities, LLC via the Southern Gas Interconnection pipeline and utilized by Aluminij Industries’ planned Combined-Cycle Gas-Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The CCGT power plant will secure a stable electricity supply for Aluminij’s primary aluminium smelter operation.
This undertaking represents the most significant US LNG supply to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
They also stated that the mentioned transaction is part of President Donald J. Trump's strategic goals aimed at strengthening transatlantic cooperation in the field of secure and diversified natural gas supply for Europe, including increased deliveries of American liquefied natural gas to Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans.
“I am grateful for the trust placed in the M.T. Abraham Group by the US administration to be the pivotal U.S. LNG importer to BiH and to ensure that the Herzegovina region has reliable energy stability, supporting its industry to thrive, creating more job opportunities, and advancing its economy to meet its potential,” stated Amir Gross Kabiri, Chairman of M.T. Abraham Group.
The company added that the United States of America's active presence in BiH allows further investment to flow in, ensuring growth and security.
