An artificial lake with a surface area of some 3,000 square meters was officially opened in Istocno Sarajevo, on Tuesday.
The opening was attended by representatives of the city authorities, as well as numerous citizens who photographed the said scene.
In addition to the arrangement of the artificial lake whose construction cost 620,000 Bosnian marks [some €310,000), a pedestrian path was built in addition to the residential complexes, urban furniture was installed, horticultural landscaping of the site was carried out, and adequate lighting was installed as part of the “Centar 3” regulatory plan.
The construction of the lake began in 2021, and the municipal administration stated that it is a unique project in this part of Bosnia's Republika Srpska (RS) entity, because it was built in the centre of the urbanized zone where citizens will be able to enjoy and spend their free time.
In addition to the lake construction project, the construction of the Rectorate building and the Music Academy with a new concert hall, the value of which is over eight million marks (some €4 million), is underway.
