Izetbegovic: Inzko's law works, Srebrenica genocide denial died down

Another 50 victims of the July 1995 genocide in Srebrenica were laid to rest on Monday.
Izetbegovic, who is the leader of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) and a member of Bosnia’s House of Peoples, said he was impressed by the number of people who came to pay their respects to the victims at the commemoration ceremony this year.

"With Inzko's decision, the phase of celebrating and rewarding the genocide was interrupted," he said, referring to the decision of the former international official overseeing the civilian implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, Valentin Inzko.

Last year, Inzko used his ‘Bonn Powers’ to impose a law banning the denial of genocide and war crimes, as well as glorification of convicted war criminals in BiH.

When asked to comment on the fact that no top officials from Serbia were present at the commemoration this year, Izetbegovic said he “didn’t even notice that.”
