Deputy Speaker of Bosnia’s House of Peoples and leader of the strongest Bosniak party in Bosnia, Bakir Izetbegovic, met with Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul on Tuesday and told him that recent actions by authorities in BiH’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity violate the Dayton Peace Agreement.

“Izetbegovic informed Erdogan about the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and about the unilateral unconstitutional activities of the authorities of the Republika Srpska, which violate the Dayton Peace Agreement,” the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) said.

The two discussed constitutional and electoral reform in BiH. They also spoke about strengthening economic relations between the two countries and touched upon the Sarajevo-Belgrade highway construction project, which Turkey is financing.
