Janazah prayer in mosques across BiH for Turkish and Syrian earthquake victims
After their Friday prayer, Bosnia’s Muslims prayed the Janazah, the Islamic funeral prayer, in mosques throughout the country and the diaspora for the victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria and started gathering donations for them.
The prayer took place according to a decision of the head of BiH’s Islamic Community, Husein Kavazovic, at the Gazi Husrev Bey Mosque in Sarajevo.
BiH’s Islamic community also launched the humanitarian campaign "From Bosniaks with love" for the victims of the earthquake, and Kavazovic urged citizens to donate.
According to the latest data, more than 18,000 people have died in Turkey and more than 3,300 in Syria following the devastating earthquake which struck the region on Monday.
