During her visit to Gallery 11/07/95 in Sarajevo, Japanese Foreign Minister Yōko Kamikawa expressed her profound impact from the harrowing memories of the conflict displayed.
“Testimonies like these force us to confront a harsh reality. The scars of conflict remain fresh and vivid in the hearts of those affected, even 30 years later. Standing here in Sarajevo, I am deeply moved by the solemnity of peace. It is clear that there is no quick fix; patient efforts are indispensable to maintain peace,” Kamikawa remarked.
Kamikawa emphasized Japan's role in leading the international community towards a world founded on cooperation rather than division and confrontation.
“This is what we strive to achieve today, even amidst severe international challenges,” she stated.
