As he was presented with the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo at the 28th Sarajevo Film Festival on Sunday, Hollywood star Jesse Eisenberg declared that the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina is his “favourite city in the world.”
The American Academy Award-nominated actor, director and playwright was awarded for his outstanding contribution to the art of film.
“Sarajevo is my favourite city in the world and I am delighted to be here again,” he said.
“I bought a plane ticket in 2020, I was stopped and I couldn't go, but I did it and now I'm finally here. Thank you so much for coming to the movie tonight. I didn’t realize there would be so many people here, and if I knew that, I would have made a better movie”, the actor joked as the audience greeted him with a big applause.
After he received the award, the audience at the Coca-Cola Open Air Cinema has the opportunity to see Eisenberg’s directorial feature debut, ‘When You Finish Saving the World’.
Eisenberg, a special guest at the 28th Sarajevo Film Festival, previously walked the Red Carpet in front of the National Theatre.
On Wednesday, August 17th, a masterclass with Eisenberg will be held at the Bosnian Cultural Center, the SFF organisers said.
The 28th Sarajevo Film Festival was officially opened on Friday and will close on August 19.
