Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Presidency member Zeljko Komsic and Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani met Friday in Munich to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing regional cooperation. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, focusing on geopolitical challenges and regional stability.

According to a statement from the BiH Presidency, Komsic and Osmani agreed to deepen cooperation not only in political matters but also in economic and security affairs. Key topics of discussion included the European integration process of the Western Balkans, the current security and political situation in the region and beyond, and the need for intensified dialogue among all parties to preserve peace and stability.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of mutual support in countering negative geopolitical influences that could jeopardize the progress achieved in the region.

While Bosnia and Herzegovina has not yet recognized Kosovo’s independence, declared in February 2008, Bosniak and Croat political representatives generally do not oppose such recognition. However, strong opposition remains from political leaders in the Republika Srpska entity.
