During discussions led by Komsic’s advisor, Slaven Kovacevic, the Hungarian envoy was informed that Bosnia and Herzegovina would not grant entry permits for Hungarian military police forces in the future. Additionally, Bosnia and Herzegovina will request the removal of the Hungarian contingent from EUFOR’s ALTHEA mission, citing concerns over Budapest’s involvement in the country’s internal affairs.

A strong protest was issued against Hungary’s bias and interference in Bosnia’s political matters, particularly following statements by Hungarian officials suggesting they would support secessionist policies in the event of conflict. Bosnia and Herzegovina also rejected Hungary’s right to influence judicial processes in the country.

Komsic summoned the Hungarian ambassador after remarks made by Levente Magyar, Hungary’s Deputy Foreign Minister, during a visit to Banja Luka on Monday. After a meeting with Milorad Dodik, Magyar claimed Budapest supports the RS President, stating that Dodik is facing a political witch hunt. He also criticized Western involvement in Bosnia, insisting that Hungary should play a role in regional discussions as a neighboring country, unlike “those thousands of kilometers away who seek to interfere.”

Following these developments, BiH Defense Minister Zukan Helez banned the overflight and landing of a Hungarian military aircraft in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
