Bosnian Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic said he was encouraged by the perception of global powers that Bosnia and Herzegovina currently has a great opportunity and that the friends of BiH will help take advantage of it, while on the other hand, the fugitive from domestic legislation - Milorad Dodik travels secretly and illegally crosses borders as a migrant.

Speaking to Fena news agency, Konakovic said that everyone around the world is aware of what is happening in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as shown by the joint statement adopted by the members of the UN Security Council, including Russia, at the initiative of Slovenia, which fully supports the territorial integrity, sovereignty and Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the EUFOR Althea Mission.

"This shows that the whole world understands the processes in BiH and sees that we have only one problem that is not of an ethnic or national nature, but only of a corrupt and personal nature, and his name is Milorad Dodik," stressed Konakovic.

Milorad Dodik, the separatist Bosnian Serb leader and the President of BiH's Republika Srpska entity, was sentenced by the State Court in a first-instance verdict for his defiance of the decision of the international peace envoy in the country, whom he calls "illegitimate." Dodik then initiated adoption of a series of controversial laws at the Republika Srpska entity parliament, banning the state agencies and institutions in that part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which the State Constitutional Court temporarily suspended and which led the state institutions to issue arrest warrant for Dodik, RS National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandic and RS Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic. They are all suspected of an attack on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After Dodik and Stevandic left the country despite the arrest warrant, the Court of BiH asked Interpol to issue an international warrant.

In an interview with Fena, Konakovic said that he was very pleased that a strong message is coming from an important organisation such as the UN Security Council, reminding also that the European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos said, speaking to N1, that Dodik, who is a separatist and attacks the constitutional order of BiH, is no longer a collocutor for anyone.

Konakovic deems that the most important thing is that many Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina understand that Dodik causes problems primarily for them and then for everyone else.
The FM also recalled that Dodik was hoping for some support from the new US administration of Donald Trump, which he hoped would give him the right to secession, and which Konakovic called a "political madness and a completely unfounded concept."

The head of Bosnia's diplomacy announced a new diplomatic offensive for the beginning of April within which the Secretary General of the OSCE, the German Minister for Europe, the Austrian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs and many other EU leaders are visiting in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"This shows that this is the long-awaited denouement in BiH that will take place on the political stage and not end in some dark scenario," underlined Konakovic.
