The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Layen, together with the prime ministers of the Netherlands and Croatia, stayed in BiH. After a series of meetings, a joint briefing for journalists was scheduled, at which Borjana Kristo, the BiH Council of Ministers Chair, thanked Von der Leyen and highlighted her dedication, which is "of immeasurable importance for the economic stability of BiH and its EU integration.”
She then stressed the important role of the Republic of Croatia and its Prime Minister by saying that his role is extremely important in many aspects. Kristo expressed optimism when it comes to the opening of negotiations towards EU membership.
As the Chair pointed out, the Council of Ministers was focused on 14 conditions set by the European Union.
She reiterated that Bosnia and Herzegovina should do everything to avoid interventions and imposition of solutions by the international community.
“The future of BiH depends on our ability, our commitment and our responsibility to create this cooperation and fulfill the conditions for joining the EU,” she explained.
Kristo concluded by saying the expects that the European Union will continue to encourage the processes that will lead to internal dialogue and that Bosnia’s integration into the European Union “is for all peoples, for all citizens and for our homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
