Austria strongly supports Western Balkans’ European perspective, Chancellor Sebastian Kurz told N1 Wednesday in Slovenia where he will take part in the EU-Western Balkans Summit.
“Austria is a strong supporter for Western Balkan countries and close contact with Bosnia and other countries in the region and we pretty much support the European perspective of all countries of the Western Balkans and this is also what I will fight for here in the meeting in Slovenia,” Kurz told N1.

Austria has long supported the accelerated process of accession of the Western Balkan countries to the EU.
During his visit to Serbia in September, he stressed that the EU will be complete only when all countries in the region join it.
A large summit will be held in Slovenia Wednesday, attended by EU leaders, who will be joined by leaders of the Western Balkan countries. Bosnia and Herzegovina will be represented by Zeljko Komsic, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency.
