Landmark 20th Tesanj Business Fair opens with record international presence

Saca Prnjavorac, president of the Jelah-Tesanj Entrepreneurs Association, highlighted two decades of economic partnership, stating the fair's central theme focuses on energy sustainability and the Southern Gas Interconnection.

Addressing attendees, U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires John Ginkel emphasized the growing commercial interest between both nations, noting that trade events transform initial contact into long-term investment. Federation of BiH Prime Minister Nermin Niksic praised Tesanj as a national economic powerhouse, emphasizing the government's role in streamlining regulations and securing reliable energy to support exporters.

Echoing these remarks, Zenica-Doboj Canton Prime Minister Nezir Pivic reported that local authorities have provided nearly 40 million Bosnian marks (approx. € 20.45 million) in economic incentives over the past three years to fuel regional growth. Meanwhile, Tesanj Mayor Suad Huskic revealed that the municipality registered a 40 percent rise in local businesses over the last decade, generating over 4,000 new jobs.

Deputy Speaker of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Denis Zvizdic concluded that political stability, structural reforms, and targeted support for domestic production remain critical prerequisites for sustained economic expansion across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
