According to research conducted by the International Burch University, the University of Graz, the University of Vienna and the Sarajevo University Clinical Center, only a little more than one-fourth of Bosnia’s population wants to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

A survey conducted by an international team of researchers showed that only 25.7 percent of respondents expressed a desire for vaccination. More than 10,000 people were interviewed.

“It's one of the lowest rates in the world. 37 percent of people are explicitly against vaccination, while we have about 27 percent of people who will wait for additional studies on the safety of the vaccine. And 13 percent of people who would get vaccinated in case they were required to by their employer, for travel or for some other reason,” researcher Ahmed Osmanovic told N1.

“Medical workers are the group that is most interested in vaccination. On the other hand, the lowest percentage is among educators, which is a phenomenon that needs to be investigated,” he added.

Research has shown that there is the least interest among young people, aged 18 to 30.
