Luxury cars stolen in Germany seized in Banja Luka and Sanski Most, worth 200,000 EUR

Over the weekend, officers from the Federal Police Administration conducted an operation based on an INTERPOL request, seizing two luxury vehicles in Banja Luka and Sanski Most, with a total value of 200,000 EUR. These cars are suspected to have been stolen in Germany.

“Acting on an INTERPOL request and in collaboration with German police, Federal Police officers, supported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Una-Sana Canton, located and seized two high-end vehicles suspected of being stolen in Germany. On September 14, 2024, in Banja Luka, a BMW X5 was seized, and on September 15, 2024, in Sanski Most, a Mercedes-Benz S 350 D, with a total value exceeding 200,000 EUR, both of which were under international investigation by INTERPOL Germany,” stated the Federal Police Administration.

In collaboration with the Una-Sana Canton Prosecutor's Office, one individual was processed for suspected involvement in “Aggravated Theft” under Article 287, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Further investigations are ongoing, and the Federal Police will continue to work with German authorities to document the case, the statement added.
