A luxury villa in the Slovenian coastal town of Portoroz, valued at nearly €1.2 million, has been traced to Djordje Djuric, a Serbian businessman sanctioned by the United States for his ties to Igor Dodik, son of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik.

Djuric, 35, became the official owner of the two-storey villa with a pool in November 2022. The property, located on a 1,200-square-metre plot in the very centre of Portoroz and hidden from public view, was purchased without a mortgage for just €750,000, despite being previously sold in 2013 for €1.5 million, double the price Djuric paid, and at a time when real estate prices were lower.

The US Treasury Department has linked Djuric to a network of companies operated in close coordination with Igor Dodik. According to sanctions imposed in 2023, Djuric helped transfer millions of euros out of Bosnia and Herzegovina and attempted to conceal beneficial ownership of firms and accounts tied to the Dodik family.

Djuric is also the former formal owner of the Infinity International group, which included several IT and media companies in Republika Srpska, many of which were publicly funded. Among them was Alternative Television (ATV) from Banja Luka, also sanctioned by the US in January 2022 alongside Milorad Dodik, due to corruption and undermining the Dayton Peace Agreement.

The previous owner of the Portoroz villa, RSB Plus, a company engaged in civil engineering, had acquired the property in 2013. Terex Inzenjering originally founded RSB Plus from Bijeljina, owned by construction entrepreneur Rade Coric. Coric was handed a suspended sentence in 2014 for document forgery. His company was previously a supplier for Ugljevik Thermal Power Plant, operated by Elektroprivreda RS and overseen by SNSD party official Luka Petrovic.

In 2021, after a higher court annulled a previous ruling awarding Terex nearly €3 million from the Ugljevik plant, Coric was ordered to return the funds with interest. Soon after, the villa was sold to Djuric.

Before this transfer, the official ownership of RSB Plus changed hands to Bojan Coric, who registered a residence in Lucija, Slovenia.

Investigations also highlight Djuric’s proximity to Igor Dodik, who is considered one of Milorad Dodik’s closest confidants, responsible for sensitive operations such as appointments and media strategy. In June 2024, Igor Dodik was spotted in Portoroz, the same town where Djuric’s villa is located.

Back in November 2013, Milorad Dodik held an informal meeting with Slovenian businessman Gaspar Misic, then-president of the Port of Koper. Their discussion focused on potential economic cooperation. Just weeks before that meeting, RSB Plus had purchased the Portoroz villa, and also previously acquired two apartments in the nearby luxury complex “Rezidenca Park Lucija,” developed by Misic’s company.
