Police officers from the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) conducted a raid yesterday (June 5, 2024) as part of the "Nitro" operation in Mostar. The operation, authorized by an oral order from the Municipal Court in Mostar, involved the search of a house and auxiliary buildings at a specified location.
One individual was arrested, subjected to criminal processing, and interrogated as a suspect. The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Mostar will determine the next steps regarding the detainee's status.
During the search, the following items were discovered and temporarily confiscated: an M48 rifle, a handheld rocket launcher “Zolja” with corresponding PBP 64 mm explosives, an M80, 15 hand grenades, a machine gun, six 7.62 mm automatic rifles, four magazines for the automatic rifles, two TNT explosives weighing 500 and 100 grams respectively, a 20 cm slow-burning fuse, a carrier for the TNT, approximately 100 grams of unidentified explosives, 530 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition for the automatic rifles, a bulletproof vest, and 5,500 Euros in cash.
The “Nitro” operation was executed in collaboration with officers from the Ministry of Interior of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. The detained individual is suspected of committing the criminal offense of “Unauthorized Possession of Weapons and Explosive Materials” as defined by the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to a statement from SIPA.
