At a closed consultation of the UN Security Council on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, all countries supported the constitutional order, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of BiH, as well as state authorities, institutions, and the High Representative – except for Russia," wrote Ivica Puljic from Washington, a journalist for Al Jazeera, on the X platform.

He emphasized that this represents “a major diplomatic defeat for Dodik and Moscow.”

“China is not happy with the OHR, but it fully supports a unified BiH. The Europeans and America are in agreement. In May, the Security Council will receive the regular six-month report on the situation in the country. Christian Schmidt will be present, and possibly (BiH Presidency member) Zeljka Cvijanović, if she gets a visa to enter the U.S.,” Puljic added.

Once again, any possibility of undermining the peace agreement was condemned, and a clear message was sent that peace must not be jeopardized.

“All participants in the consultations spoke and expressed concern over the escalation of the political crisis, calling for de-escalation and political dialogue,” said Slovenia’s ambassador to the UN, Samuel Zbogar, who, on behalf of his country, proposed the consultations due to the current situation in BiH, according to Srna.

A second round of closed-door consultations at the UN Security Council took place on Friday. During the first consultations, as stated at the time by Bosnia and Herzegovina’s ambassador to the UN, Zlatko Lagumdzija, “the Russian ambassador remained isolated,” and no one supported Dodik.
