Metropolitan Mihailo from Potocari: This is a second Mecca and Medina, I will keep coming here

“This is a second Mecca and Medina. I have been there, and I come here as well; this is just as sacred to me. And I will continue coming as long as it exists. And when Bosnia becomes united - I believe in that,” said Metropolitan Mihailo.

He also addressed the ongoing denial of the Srebrenica genocide, stating that such individuals should not be welcomed at the memorial site.

“Even today, there are those in Potocari who deny the genocide. They should be turned away at these gates; however, the truth of what happened is well known,” he said.

Metropolitan Mihailo also criticised political motives behind some visits to the memorial: “Some come here for political reasons. Even some of my own from Montenegro do this, and you all know it. But we tolerate it, to a point. What Srebrenica represents today, in Europe and the world, is still far too little.”
